 Art by Sejames

Enjoy your visit to my online gallery.  You will see a variety of oil paintings and pyrography.

I paint the softer side of the desert whether it's the harshness of desert plants and landscapes or the interactions of man and animal.  I am particularly fond of horses and Dachshunds and cowboys and the western flair.  As you stroll through my gallery you will see depth and feeling in the paintings!

Thank you

Glory All is 14x ll inches drawn with colored pencils.  This ocotillo is just a couple of blocks from my house and is breathtaking.  Each spring it comes alive with blossoms and as they say in Yucca Valley, I pull over for flowers.

This little Quail is wood burned onto a piece of 5x4" Joshua Tree Wood.  You can find these little guys running about the yard and playing look out for the rest of the coven.  They are always good for entertainment in the morning or late in the day.

Joshua Tree wood is an amazing wood and of recent I have also discovered quite toxic to burn.  I have now taken extra precautions to complete my work.  The Joshua Tree wood veneer that I used is over 30 years old and was in storage with The Chaparral Artists.  We acquired the wood from an artist that had used it at that time for promotional items.  Some of us have began to use it because of its unique qualities.  It has wonderful texture and color, it also does not accept color well, so we have become adept in using it.  The wood is no longer being processed so there is a definite end to what we have available.  There is a delightful legend that came along with the wood.  Enjoy the story
